Book
The OK Book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld.
HarperCollins, 2007 32p. (all ages)
OK is having a great time trying many activities to discover its real talent.
Idea
OK means all right (Merriam Webster). Use this book as a model for readers to tell how they feel OK about themselves, how they feel good about what they can do. They use the letter O as the head, and K as a body as they illustrate some way they are OK. Encourage them to illustrate a different activity than those in the book, showing something they do that makes them feel OK.
Idea
The word, book, has the word OK in it. Readers can identify books they have read that made them feel OK. Combine the books into a bibliography entitled "BOOKS to make you feel OK.
Ideas for the following books also appeared in the August/September/October 2007:
